Local Velo began life in May of 2023. Following two years working for one of the largest bike and equipment suppliers in the world, and eleven years leading and supporting a leading, multi-store independent bike dealer, I decided to forge my own path. My mission was, and remains, to support riders in riding what they want to ride, where they want to ride, and how they want to ride. I strongly believe that cycling is for everyone, and I strive to provide the same high level of service to every customer.

My name is Eric Truman, and I am the owner and lead mechanic at Local Velo. I hold a degree in business administration and am a UCI and USA Cycling licensed professional mechanic. I am trained by and have received certifications from Shimano, SRAM, Specialized, and other brands.

When I'm not at Local Velo, which is most of the time, you can find me working as a pro mechanic at some of the nations' largest cycling events. I enjoy most forms of cycling, from enduro to endurance road cycling, and everything in between.
